Ignore It (It'll go away)
My image was shot as the initial part of a project. It is shot in San Francisco, probably a couple hundred yards from THIS SHOT, which I posted in another landscape critique. Other shots in the project folder can be seen HERE. Please keep in mind this is a work in progress and these are fairly rough first scans, etc.
This image was shot around 10 AM. It had rained the night before. I used Plus-X and shot it with a CV 35/1.7. I was disappointed in some of the shots from this roll because I got some really wicked vignetting.
I cropped this image as suggested to lose the houses on the right side, and the image tightens up nicely. (I'll try and post it later tonight when I get home) I designed this project to actually show some reality creeping into these shots. If you look at the links above you'll see that almost every shot contains some human element. This is a very defined area. It's probably a couple hundred yards wide, by about a mile~two mile stretch with a divided four lane highway (Highway 1) and a full-size San Francisco neighborhood on one side and the beach and ocean on the other. I think the suggested crop will work really well.

On the second look I still don't see anything I would change in the photo.
The black bar at the bottom is still wierd, and I'm not sure why you left it there. I assume it was part of the scanning process.

Mitch: I still don't know how to use PS to crop a photo! I am "basic" when it comes to digital manipulations.

Film is the other way
I enjoyed reading the personal comments about how each of us went to the shot and how it was eventually taken. I enjoy this more than the tech stuff ; but we all know that if your technical work isn't on then the whole opportunity is at risk.
Thanks gents a fine group and enjoyable discussion. I'll come again
cheers, Jan
PS remrf; I'll check on the scan information in your post. BTW nice bike! make that , very nice bike..
