Crop factor and a 15mm finder

I am thinking hard on getting a m4/3rd caamera. i am looking at the G1. But if I use the 15mm Voigtlander with the finder will the finder be usless because of the 4/3rd crop factor
? Tell me why I would benefit from using my M and screwmount lenses with a x2 crop factor.

here's a bit of heresy...i prefer the lumix lenses on the g1.
i had an adapter to use my m lenses on my g1 and i sold it.
the g1 is a great camera and i just prefer using the af lenses on it. the kit lenses are very sharp if a bit slow.

There is no need for the finder due to the EVF. If you get the 14-45mm kit lens with the G1, the 15/4.5 Voigtlander would not be of much use.

That is what I thought. What about sutter lag on the m4/3rd cameras? I read the EP2 almost has no shutter lag compared to the EP-1 which has. How are the Pany cameras?

I use my VC15/4.5 on my EP-1 and focusing on the EVF using the MF help patch is awesome. Have never needed a finder. Also use VC50/1.5 and Leica 28/2.8 and 90/2.8 and love the different look I get.

I have the GF1 with 20f1.7 and 14-45 kit lens. I don't think you can go wrong with these lenses. Pany also has a 14f2.8 in their roadmap. Not released yet. May see it at next PMA.

I have an adapter for legacy lenses as well but mainly for a different look.

The Pany lenses are really good but its still worth having an adapter to use M mount lenses as the results are mostly excellent. The downside of using M lenses or LTM are the wide angle lenses, say wider than 35mm. The sensor is designed for a telecentric light path, and the acute light path of a wide M lens, even with 2x crop factor, means the corners of the frame can be mushy.
