curious gear question

The 35mm lens of the x100 is in the middle. I'd want a wider and a longer lens on the second camera. Then you're ready for whatever you come across.

The cv 40f1.4 on the Rd would be a good focal length and fast.

The RFF members in Manchester, UK are out on the streets tomorrow shooting the Gay Pride parade. I'm going along with my X100 and RD1. I know that there's gonna be crowds and I may often be in the thick of it so I'm putting the CV15mm on the RD1. I have shot with these two before and found them a good match. The Fuji will allow some cropping of the image so I suppose that would help to give a fifty FOV.This is of course when covering an event.
I'm off on holiday next week and the Fuji can pretty much cope on it's own for touristy stuff.

50 as well and i would take my Summicron 50 v4 because the X100 lens reminds me of the Summicron 35 v4 which matches perfectly the former.

i'm thinking ahead to my few days in toronto...so, touristy street stuff.

I would use a 75 on the Rd1. For me, the 35 takes care of most situations. There are times though when I need some extra reach to shoot across a street or capture a candid moment that I don't want to disturb. I like the 75 for that. It is also great for some kinds of portraits. I also like the way it can compress visual elements in the image. Sometimes there is limited access to some really cool things and the 75 gives enough reach when I can't zoom with my feet.

a 75 as in mounting a 50 that gives the fov of a 75?

or using a 75 that gives the fov of about 120?

i'm leaning toward the x100 and the rd1 with a 50, if i take both.

I'm sorry; the FOV of the 75 - so the 50mm lens. I like some reach for those "can't get there from here" moments.

Depends. Shooting in a dark restaurant/bar/banquet of American proportions I'd take a 50. I find that on the RD1 it reaches across tables well and was surprised that a 35mm equiv was actually a little too wide to do so.

Street shooting? With a one lens RD1. Definitely the 15mm, which is what I used most of the time on it. CV 35 if you like more distance, but that's a little long for me for most street conditions.

edit: Worth mentioning that I never carry two cameras. I pick what lens I'm using for the day then just look for pictures to make with that lens.
