Did a bit of fixing up on this QL17 I picked up on eBay, check out the custom hood, I think it turned out sweet. I couldn't find a vented 49mm hood so this was my solution. Camera had a dented filter ring that someone else fixed but I completed the task by straightening out the filter threads with a xacto knife and added a 48-49mm step up so the use of 49mm filters and the "custom" hood I created.

I gotta say that this RF/VF is very good, not Leica M3 good but for a fixed lens RF it is the best I have seen, definatly like it better than the Yashica Electro I used to own.

Excellent work! I love to hear to hear good "Monster Camera Garage" stories like yours. I find them inspiring... we don't have to spend a butt load of money to have fun with cameras.

Yea I find it fun, I also "carved" a new battery door out of 1/8" ABS plastic as the original split into two pieces when I was messing with it about 5 min after I took it out of the box. This one will never break! Only thing I wish I could fix is the eyepiece is missing around the VF window but it is only cosmetic so I'm not too worried about it.
