CV 12mm for sports

The high school (well, equivalent to that) where I teach Norwegian part time arranged the annual sport´s and activity´s day last week. Weather was terrific and what was more natural than levaing the D200 and the lontg zoom on the kitchen table - "only" bringing the Canon P, sporting the 12mm?😱

Actually it was quite a thrill; a soccer goal keeper had to shoe me out of his way and a volleyball referee wished to know if I was playing - and in that case, what that silly looking camera was for ... Well; not really. 😀

But as Capa said; if your pictures aren´t good enough, you aren´t close enough ...

With a 12 shooting sports you REALLY want to be close. This one is from a volleyball match between the teachers and the soccer guys. I just love the P - and the 12 mm is really growing in my esteem - even if this was just fun.

Very cool. I used to do a lot of sports, but that was before I had any RF stuff. Will have to remember the 15 from time to time outside. I used to use a 24 and lay on the ground for American Football. Interesting perspective but painfull from time to time.

Thanks!
I can almost feel that neck of yours after an hour or two on the ground, glued to the finder. Still, I´ll try that next - shooting from the ground up 😀

I've got a FSU 16/2.8 fisheye designed for SLR's that I can mount on my Canon RF gear. I'll have to try that one out, if I can get close enough. I've got some pre-HS football matches coming up (not me, my grandkids), and I may be able to get close enough. I never really thought about using it for sports....
