CV 15 mm on Zorkis

Thinking about getting a CV 15 mm to use on my Zorki 1 and 2. Anyone any experience with this lens on those Zorki's? I am also interested in the pictures you shot with this lens.

Its a screwmount lens. it should work great. 🙂 Just use the included accessory finder and your golden. 🙂

Like jbf, there's no reason why it shouldn't work just fine. As I recall, there's a 15mm gallery on flickr you might wanna check out. I remember reading that there are two main problems w/ this lens, both classified as "operator error": Getting your hands and feet in the image, and not keeping the camera level.

Well.... you have to keep in mind. Keeping the camera level is not necessarily a "problem" with the lens at all. It can also be used for creative choices. But yeah, generally speaking it can lead to distorted perspectives, etc. 😀

The CV15 works fine on my FSU bodies (Zorki and FED), although the screw thread aligns slightly off on some of them so the "hood" isn't in quite the right position. After I first got it I put a few test shots in my gallery, here

Those shots were taken with a Bessa-L, and The 15 and the L were all I had in the RF world then (the L isn't an RF, but you know what I mean), and I had no intention of getting anything else in the RF line - ah, such naiveté 🙄

I had this problem on both a Leica and a Hexar.

Turns out the solution is to unscrew the rear mount. Each screw can screw into one of three adjacent positioning holes underneath, so just rotate the unscrewed rear mount as appropriate and screw back again.

Obviously, take care near the rear element. I did worry about the whole procedure until I figured out it didn't change any distance to the film plane, just the rotation of the entire lens unit.

As on this thread http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14413 but simpler. There is a picture on the web somewhere of the three sets of three holes in the Heliar, but it's eluding me today.

Oh, and there were no shims on the Heliar, either. Just unscrew, rotate, screw.
