CV 25/4 good match for a M-Rokkor 40/2 on a CLE ?

Hope this is the right forum, otherwise please tell me and/or move it, thanks.

Wondering if a Voigtlander 25mm f4 color skopar would be a good companion for a 40/2 M-Rokkor on a CLE

I have a 40/2 Summicron-C which I love and use on my Fuji X-E1 digital
I'd like to have a CLE version since I like that it is almost the same but a bit more contrasty and would like to get a CLE camera too (so yes I'd like to have a second 40/2, it may seem obscene : ) I may sell one of them in the future)
I think that a CLE with the 40/2 M-Rokkor does not need anything else really, I love the results I see on film, but would like a wide, farther from the 40mm than a 28mm is, but not so wide as a 21mm... that's why I think about the 25/4 Skopar...
I know the 28/3.5 Skopar is a good option too (no budget for expensive 28's like the M-Hexanon or the Elmarit-M ASPH or the Biogon 25/2.8 wich is also large)

I read that you can more or less frame a 25mm on the CLE using all the viewfinder window, am I right?
Will the coupling work well?

Also, the 40/2 is sharp and contrasty and very special to my eyes, is the 25/4 Skopar any similar?
Do you consider the 25/4 Skopar "snappy" on film?

I have both the Rokkor-M and Skopar, both are excellent lenses. Try to find the "old" version of the 25mm and forget about rangefinder coupling - scale focussing is quite easy with this lens!

I also had the 28/3.5 - amazing lens as good or better than the 25/4 and also much better build (at least mine was brass not aluminum or whatever the first version 25/4 is) but I found using the snapshot skopar in scale focusing and external finder better. The 28mm framelines on a 0.72 M-Finder are pretty close to the edges, the external finder is just better if you do not need the RF patch.
The snapshot skopar has a great price but the newer version is probably better build.

I find it comparable to the 25/4 in rendition, killer performer anyway MUUUUUCH better than my Elmarit 28 v3 was.


btw. if you find those 28mm shots sharper - that might just be the scanner - most of the 25/4 shots online came out of a flatbed while I have a Nikon now.
 
I've had and used quite a lot the Color Skopar 21/4 and 28/3.5, no 25/4 unfortunately. Both the 21 and 28 are excellent performers; my preference is for the 28, so that's the one I kept when I bought the Elmar-M 24/3.8 ASPH.

The Color Skopar 28mm performs better with film bodies, I prefer the Elmar-M 24 with digital bodies.

I have them both. I Don't notice any difference in character between them, so I don't think either would be closer than the other to the 40/2 CLE.
 
I own a Leica CL, not a CLE - quite the same, but shorter rangefinder base length and no auto mode, with a german version of a 40mm Summicron-C.
I wanted a light travel kit, so a got a 90 Elmarit and a CV 25f4 with rangefinder coupling.

It's my very first time shooting RF, but i've been a pro photojournalist for four years, so I can't say if this CV is up to a Leica branded or a Zeiss lens, but it's way batter than my Canon set. Seriously. I want to trash my 24-105L.
The way it render the colors and deal with the distortion is just gorgeous. And i don't use an external finder.

I just uploaded some photos to flickr, they are badly scanned because i don't own a scan, so I use what the lab that does the development sends me.

[edit] I think the 25 f/4 makes a really good, light and cheap kit with the 40 f/2. And there are almost no photos taken with the 40 f/2 on the album because I was trying the 25 and the 90.

Are you focusing the 90 Elmarit on the CL with larger than f5.6 apertures? Hard to focus?
I ask because, theoretically, due to the short effective base length of the CL rangefinder, focusing a 90 at f2.8 would be hard... so I'd like to know about your experience
 
Fer, I have the Rokkor 40/2.0 CLE version and the CV Skopar 28/3.5. I had the Snapshot Skopar 25/4.0, but sold it. It's a very nice lens, but I didn't get on with the focal length; I discovered that 28 is wide enough for me. In terms of "look," I think either the 25 or 28 would match the Rokkor 40 well, but the Skopar 28/3.5 has a special magic for me in black and white. I just love what it can do. BTW, I've taken both the Rokkor 40 and Skopar 28/3.5 on trips as part of the same kit, and did not feel that 28 was too close to 40, but that's a subjective thing; you may feel differently.

These days, I'm using the Rokkor 40 on a Bessa R2A, using the 35 framelines (close enough). I've thought about getting a CLE, but have concerns about getting them repaired in the U.S. if their aging electronics develop problems.
