I've read a lot of great things about the Two Rock amps. Wasn't able to find a place to try them in the areas I've lived previously. Cmogi, from your picture, your model seems nice and compact. I don't know what I was thinking at the time, but I ended up with a Diezel VH-4S. A bit too much in all senses of the phrase. Is that a JC-120 in the background as well?

That's a nice ES-335. I saw one at GC that I liked, nice tobacco sunburst. Too bad it was behind the counter so I couldn't try it easily. I've always wanted to try the L-5 but it's probably way too big for me.

I haven't been able to decide between Taylor and Martin, as they are both different but good. I got a great deal on a 514CE, but I really wanted a 712CE or Martin Golden Era. But the dream guitar for me is a smaller bodied Collings or Santa Cruz.

As far as dirt goes I loved the zendrive I used to have but I get everything I want and more out of my amp now so I ditched almost all of my boxes except a true bypass wah, delay and I figure I should hold on to my Tube screamer because they aren't going to be getting an cheaper.

I've always wanted to try the Aqua Puss. Had a chance to buy a brand new one when prices were on the rise, but at the time was more into fuzz pedals. Could have still doubled my money on that pedal; later I saw that exact pedal on eBay with no box and some scratches.

the T-Rex delay pedal is incredible.
I had an Aqua Puss for a while and sold it when prices skyrocketed because I used the Replica almost all the time.

I still have a very small hope of being cured of GAS.
Two guitars straight into two amps, no effects, no stompboxes, sold everything. And it seems to work so far. Except that I replaced one amp last summer.

Wish it was so easy with cameras 🙂

I wonder though, I've had the same guitar set up for a long time now, and went into guitar center in san francisco atleast once a week to get my electric guitar playing fix when my rig was on the east coast.
Never once did I have any interest in taking anything home.

I figure the same thing will happen with camera's sooner then later, at one point I owned 30 guitars, a dozen amps and 2 crates of stomp boxes. Once I found exactly what I liked life got easier.

I got a 1964 Traynor YBA amp head that was tube rectified but was in shambles, which I personally converted to JTM 45 spec.
this amp now is one of the best that I have heard, especially played thru a 54 LP goldtop reissue.

Very cool, Andy Fuchs modded an old traynor head that I picked up a while back, it was an incredible amp but the Two Rock ended up beating it in an A/B

those old Traynor amps had some very good iron, the Hammond choke on this early YBA is biggers than most power transformers on 50 watt tube amps.
I picked this one up because it was tube rectifed and were not made like that soon after.
I could picture the potential of this amp with its point to point turret construction of its circuit board.
I am running a pair of NOS RCA 6L6 GC's power tubes biased for 35ma on the plates.
A pair of KT 66's in lieu of the 6L6's will be my next try out.

I can't justify (or afford) true vintage gear, but the 1967 Guild T100 I've been working on was a product of being the first one to a garage/estate sale in Roselle Park, NJ a year or two ago. I saw it leaning against a fence when I pulled up to the curb, then grabbed it as I walked down the driveway.

I asked the guy down by the garage how much, he said $1, and I had the money in his face before I knew what I was doing.

It was missing ALL of the hardware, but I knew it was going to play fine once I sighted the neck and realized that it was just the finish that was flaking and had no real damage to speak of. The case did NOT come with the guitar, and cost me much more than $1, unfortunately.

When I'm done setting it up I plan on doing some with better light. Those were just snaps in the back yard to document the project... At this point it sings, but the bridge needs some work to lower the action. I also have nothing but good things to say about the Lollar P90 that I put in last year.

Unfortunately the guitar lives in LA while I spend most of my time in NJ, otherwise it'd be done by now 🙁

Ray is selling a Hex 50, I'm keeping mine though. If it helps, the 40/2 brings up the 50 lines (not modified), you basically get the same image as a 50, allows you to crop as needed without chopping off heads, etc.

The first moogerfooger I get I think is the delay, one that self oscillates. I think the Murf is mainly for techno beat disco??.

hm I will think about it but I'm looking for something more in the 50 range.

the murf is one of the most beautiful yet confusing sounding pedals ever. I used it when I was doing this project with a DJ and I was playing 8 string guitar. Then when I was playing with this funk group it got a lot usage.
There are some videos on youtube that really explain the pedal.
