are these two lenses having same optical design / same character ( only different in mount )?

I read that they arethe same optics, yet having tried all 3 - I prefer the original Pancake one. It's better built and for some reason is not as contrasty as later versions. I thought it was just my sample, but later tried other samples with the same result. Not to say that difference is huge, but I think it's there. So I kept the original one. Did anyone else have similar experience with Skopar 35's?

I have only one, I think the Pancake II, it is high contrast relative to a Leica lens, but very nice for color and some types of b/w.
I read somewhere that this design was based on a Summaron?? But not sure about that.

Same experiences as Krsoya, slightly lower contrast than Leicas, very nice rendering, but it was too small for my hands

Guess the design is quite different
Summaron 35

Color-Skopar 35

Although a gauss-based-design its a independent CV design

I am not sure that all three versions are optically the same as they don't have the same minimal focusing distance..

I thought in the case of the various 35mm Color Skopars this difference was due to the constraints of LTM vs M mount lenses, rather than anything to do with the optical design of each version?

that's what I thought.

This isnt the case because the 2 LTM versions have different minimal focus distance, although I am not sure if there was an optics change in any of the 4 versions.
There are 3 versions of the Voigtlander 35/2.5
all have the same glass
all have different lens barrels
the C and PII take 39mm filters, the PI 43mm filters.
the screw mount 35/2.5C and 35/2.5PI were introduced at the same time, so there is no "original" version. The C was made in both silver and black, the P in black only. The silver C is discontinued, the black screw mount C stays in production.
the screw mount 35/2.5 PI did not sell well and was discontinued. it was unusual in having an exceptionally short focusing throw from close up to infinity.
The M mount 35/2.5 P II remains in the Voigtlander lineup along with the black 35/2.5 C.
