Just wondering if anyone uses a CV 35mm lens on an FSU body? I ordered a 35mm viewer from Yuriy at DVD Technik, so I can use my 35/2.5 lens on a Zorki. I know the FSU lenses are slightly off on a Leica body, especially at short distances and wide open. Just wondering if I should expect problems with the reverse, a Leica spec lens on an FSU body? I did use a 50/2.5 CV lens on my Zorki and it seems okay to me. I didn't do any extreme close-ups with it though. Looking for some stories from others. When I can afford it I'll order a Jupiter-12 to round out my collection 😛

It was my understanding that it was the early (pre-war) FSU cameras that were "slightly off" in the flange to film distance, rather than the crop of lenses produced from the 1950's on up. I haven't had any problems using any FSU lenses on my Leica IIIc. Of course I have calibrated my rangefinder, as they tend to get out of adjustment in 50 years of use.

If you calibrate (adjust) the rangefinder and check and adjust the lens flange to film plane distance to correct specs, (paper shims) then any lens built to the Contax mount standard should work with the Kiev rfdr's, and focus correctly.

I've used my CV 35/1.7 and 90/4 Elmar on my Zorki 4 without experiencing focus problems. I haven't done any rigorous testing, but have merely taken snapshots with the combo.
