Well, I bought a CV 35mm brightline finder in metal. It looks beautifully made, and the view is astonishingly clear with really bright lines. The only problem is that the mounting foot seems to be made of thicker than usual chromed metal. The foot is so thick that it's really, really hard to mount this on both of my Leica IIIGs. I almost feel that the metal of the RF housing is going to bend, and my RF lens and viewfinder are going to pop out from the amount of force I have to exert. It's equally difficult getting this thing off the camera.
Afterwards, I notice that my Leitz SGVOO 90mm finder now almost slips out of the shoe, as the shoe springs seem to have been mashed down.
Oddly, it doesn't seem to happen with the metal 21mm CV finder or the plastic CV 15mm finder. These mount and dismount easily.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Solutions (short of a few seconds against a grinding wheel)?
