cv 40/1.4 or m-rokkor 40/2 or c-sum 40/2

I think 40's are better for cameras with 40mm framelines, or at least with a 40 external finder... Of course we can learn to use other framelines, but having 35mm ones, the 35 2.5 might be a better option, and it's a great lens: practically as good and fast as a cron... I don't wanna die!

Since the framelines on an R2M are selected manually, filing a 40mm shouldn't be needed. The issue is interpolating the framing from whatever set of lines is selected, which can be done by trial and error with the framelines that suit you best.

Sounds to me that you've narrowed the field by eliminating the most modern looking of the choices, since the 35mm Color Skopar seems to yield the highest contrast of the lenses you're considering. I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of the 40s, any of which are more likely to deliver a somewhat more vintage look.
 
sorry, missed that part - thought this was a new lens question.

r2m has frame lines for 35, you sure you're ok with accounting for the 40 with that? if so, i'd still say the 40/1.4, just because i like the way it renders. had a summicron-c, just didn't get along with it.

I have the 40mm 'cron and it is great. Honestly, it blows me away. I doubt you could go wrong. On the other hand they seem to go for silly money.
 
i use the 35mm frame lines on the rd1 with my rollei 40...works pretty good.
the cv 40/1.4 is a very sweet lens...and versatile too.
 
I leave my CV 40mm on my R2M with framelines set to 35mm and find it is pretty close to what I get on the negative. I like what I get from this lens but haven't had any other 40s to compare it to. I do like that it's small.
