CV 50/1.1 v. 35/1.2 in low light

Setting aside sharpness, bokeh, signature, etc...

Shooting hand held wide open in low light, would the longer 50mm (only 1/3 stop faster) have any practical advantage over the 35mm?

Just curious.

No expert here, but my first question is if you're handholding. Assuming yes, I'd say the 35 would be less prone to shake-induced blur. Slightly.

The 35 will also have slightly deeper dof (and therefore be easier to use in low light) by virtue of its fl, won't it?

Talked to the Singapore dealer of voigtlander products, and he told me the 50/1.1 is arriving tomorrow. Hope to see lots of images from the early buyers who'll be getting their lenses tomorrow!

yup. deeper dof and less shake-blur with the 35mm. I guess I'd have to try the 1.1/50 to really compare the additional 1/3 of a stop to that.
