So what's the word from old Mr. K this September? Now that Leica is kicking out the fast wides, will we get some from CV that cost a mere thousand bucks? Will there be a 50/1.2? Gimme some rumor.
definately, but it's still in the research lab, as explained on my site
Alas, the long rumored Voigtlander SL II 4-10,000/f.7 SuperSizedNoctNoct zoom lens is not yet ready for the marketplace. Unconfirmed reports say the megalens was blown over by high winds, unfortunately destroying Nagano's 1998 Winter Olympic Stadium.

It's supposed to have zero depth of field, right? Just nothing but that good 'ol creamy bokeh.

With a lux 24mm presumably being priced around USD 6000, there would be plenty of room for Cosina ro repeat a Nokton 35 f1.2 masterpiece at wider focal length (25mm or 28mm. And I assume the market would even understand pricing north of the present CVs.

I would like to see a new 35mm f1.4(yes, I know there is already one) with the build quality of the new Ultron 28/2 and image quality to compete head-on with the Summilux 35 along with a 50mm f1.4 of the same build quality and image-quality of the Summilux 50. I am not expecting an equal match, but as close as possible while still keeping the price in line with current Voigtländer offerings. The new Ultron 28/2 is the benchmark for Voigtländer to follow with their future lenses.
If the above lenses are too hard, then simply make a 35mm f2.0, built like the Ultron 28/2 with the image quality of the Summicron. This would become my standard working lens, although I like to be able to open up to f1.4 when the conditions dictate.
I also think that a Bessa with a nice long EBL like the ZI would be a nice addition to the Bessa line-up.
Just thinking...

I can't help thinking there should be a fast compact VM 50, perhaps a 1.4, similar in looks to the 40/1.4 and 35/1.4 and a cheaper competitor to the compact Zeiss Sonnar.
And I really think there should be an 18 in their lineup too.

There's already a what-do-you-want-from-CV thread...I want idle speculation, bordering on lies!

Well, since we're dreaming: A Bessa with a nice long EBL, and framelines for 28/35/50/75 (and nothing else), and as close to 1.0x magnification as possible.
And a 75 f/2.0 to compete with the Summicron, at a price that some of us mere mortals can afford.
Thank you, Mr. K.!

I've just processed my first rolls from my new 35/1.4 SC and I don't think the image quality nor the build quality are lacking at all. I was expecting more softness and vignetting wide open than I wound up with (which wouldn't have bothered me so much anyway). I was hesitant to get this lens because of what so many had to say about, but now can't understand all the complaints.
35 hasn't really been my focal length in the past, but I wanted the speed and compactness, and after seeing the results I think I'll try and get used to this fl and make it my everyday lens (though I'll still use something wider for wandering around the city).
I looked at the 28/2 which is what made me decide to go for the 35 (even though 28 is much more my normal sort of fl). The 28 is too big for it to be a lens I'd leave on the camera and use in daylight as well as lowlight.

It's quite simple to guess.. just look at the list of discontinued products from Cosina here: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63269&highlight=discontinued
The 28/3.5 and 50/2.5 are discontinued and there is no substitute in the lineup - so these are my candidates. I guess black M mount, the 28 in pancake body similar to 25/4 and the 50/2.5 similar to 35/2.5 only longer...

Simple wish on my side:
A 28/2.8 with the IQ of the (discontinued) Color Skopar (best 28 out there
) and the built of the 21/24 P lenses.
Cheers,
Roland.

I wonder how many people will notice it's not really f1.4, if CV make their current 50mm nokton in M mount, and rebadge it with f1.4

A 50 1.4 with a similar look to the 35 1.4 SC would be great; that 35 is a beautiful thing when used wide open.

A 50mm f/0.95 ASHP at half the price of the new Leica Nocti.
Same can be said for the new 21/1.4 and 24/1.4.
