CV Nokton 50/1.5 Loose Barrel Repair Guide

Great article. I have a Zeiss 50mm that has a stiff aperture ring on it and was wondering if the same method would work to loosen it up just a touch... in other words, are the screws too tight?

Also, how do you remove the faceplate? I see two rings where a 2 pin spanner could fit... loosen the outer one?

Many thanks

Brian, I have the opposite prob with my Nokton..it's stiff. I've speculated that this was a matter of lube...do you think your method could loosen it a little? I'm tempted just to CLA..if Sherry will touch it.

Hope you're feeling better.

Brian,
Was looking to solve a problem with my 40mm 1.4 Nokton MC and came across your thread which fully described the issues that I have.
I followed your instructions and exposed the three cross headed black screws, however after checking these are fully tightened. It appears that I have a problem that also shows movement on the rear of the lens but all of the screws on the rear of the lens are also fully tightened.
I get the impression that what the three front screws are fixed to is the component that is moving.
My natural instinct is to keep going now that I have started but I don't want to end up with bits and pieces in a matchbox not knowing how to put it back together .
Do you know if there are assembly drawings or photographs available on the web that would give an indication of what I would find if I had to delve deeper?.

Regards

Harry
