Is anyone using the CV viewfinder for the CV 35/2.5? Especially anyone wearing spectacles? With my specs I can't even come close to seeing the 35mm framelines in the Canon P viewfinder, so I'm thinking I need the CV viewfinder, but I'd want to be sure it will be an improvement before spending half the price of a 25/4 lens! (Which is what I'd rather be spending money on!)

I just got out my CV 35mm finder... it's the newer round metal style. In regard to glasses, I think there will be individual differences in the finder use depending on the glasses, and how far the lens is from your eye. I think mine are relatively close... With the finder contacting the glasses lens, I note some slight darkening/vignetting around the edges, but the bright-line frame is easily visible in its entirety, and a tiny (darkened) area outside of that as well. Without glasses the CV finder is very bright at the edges and a useful amount is visible around the framelines.

This is better than the 35mm framelines in my M2. Brighter, and the framelines are more easily visible. Without glasses the M2's frames are visible all at once only in peripheral vision at the extremes. With glasses, I can just see the top and bottom lines but I need to move my eye back and forth to see the left and right frame edges.

chris,
just keep shooting for awhile as is and likely you will start to feel where the picture elements are in the frame without need to see all the lines all at once.

i also wear glasses and use the p with 35mm most of the time and this seems to be what has happened for me.

I just bought the black metal CV 35mm finder today. An awesome piece of glass. It's so bright, it's as though I'm not looking through a finder. The brightlines are amazing.

But I don't wear glasses, so I can't really comment on the viewing angles.

By the way, this has a really tight fit on my screwmount bottom feeders. Does anyone have the same problem/feature?

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I'll try Joe's advice for a few rolls and see how I settle in with it. After that - well I've just realised that the finder is half the price of a Bessa R! Oh No!
