I have it eventually but have no time to try it. I would be glad to see some sample photos by using this lens.

A very rare lens in Contax RF mount, great majority made in 42mm screw mount and exakta mount. John Keesing, in his book Contax Rangefinder Lenses 1932-1962 states that estimated number made was about 800.

It's a lens regarded for its crazy (swrily?) OOF.

Just do a search on flickr for samples (I assume it will be the same makeup as in the other mounts) as it is not too common for people to have. There should be plenty on there however.

Has anyone seen one of these for sale in Contax mount ever? I have not. It's the sort of lens made in such small quantities that it could become "extinct". By the way, they also made it in Praktina mount, not uncommon, but hideously expensive. The Exakta versions may be the least expensive..

Has anyone seen one of these for sale in Contax mount ever?

I have seen one listed from time to time on eBay by the Arsenal folks, with an asking price of around $4000. I used to have one in M42 screw mount, but sold it because the photos were not that impressive. The lens is really heavy, and difficult to focus (both of which are probably contributing factors in my less-than-impressive photos).

oops sorry I was wrong. They do have a 70mm f1.6 biotar lens in contax mount for sale though for 780 euros.
But they write that it`s an adapted lens.
I`ve never heard of a 70mm f1.6 biotar though!!!!

Dear KHW,
if you wouldn't have taken such a sweet portait!
I'd have had the chance to tell you:
Comrade, with this lens, you OUGHT to portray children! :)
