FrankS, I am not in the collector side although I still have a bunch of rangefinder cameras (Nikon, Canon and Contax plus lenses) and I really like to use then very often (one of each time). I´m really glad to have a lens quoted as an excellent performer.FrankS said:

Ok there are no baffles it is like my pre WWII f2.8.
Baffles would be one or more light shields to reduce scatter from the rear of the barrallel.

Xmas, now I know what buffle is, thanks. I have some interesting Canon rangefinder lens (wideangle) with buffles inside.

The similar F3.5 Leitz Elmar I have is baffled, this seems cautious, but may be because it was uncoated. Folding cameras are nicely baffled by the (folds of the) bellows. As I said above my 2.8 Contax fit Tessar pre WWII ('37) is also not baffled.
