Damaged lens hood on 25mm skopar

I managed to drop my IIIa with the 25mm attached, fortunately not from a great height and onto carpet - the only damage was to the round lens hood that screws onto the Voigtlander lens. It's now not circular and my attempts to render it true have made matters worse.

It seems it should be repairable at home - any ideas?

If I understood you, then the screw mount is bent ?

If so.. Then I would take metal pliers and bend it straight. I have always put a few layers of fabric/cloth between the mix not to damage it any further.

I think I might find me a piece of wooden dowel--say, about one inch, or 1.25 inch diameter--whatever fits just inside the hood. Then I would try to press the metal against the rounded dowel surface, working it around and around, lightly, until I got it round again.
