Dammit!

I thought I was the only butterfingers herel. My most tragic fall. Stumbled over a ledge on the sidewalk and smashed a 70mm f2 Zuiko mounted on my Pen FT. Now try to find one.

Everything gets dropped. It sucks.

I've dropped.

Nikon D2x. Tipped over on a tripod. No damage other than a piece of the metal frame broke off. Continued to work perfectly.

Sigma 17-70 f4. It was on the D2x. Sigma charged $150 to fix it.

Leica M9. Fell out of my camera bag while running and rolled on the ground. Leica NJ said it was toast. Sold me a brand new M9 at cost for $4300.

35mm Nokton f1.2. It was on the M9 at the time. Just sent it to Cameraquest last week with a check for $165.

35mm Summicron. Dropped it while changing lenses. Minor damage to the mount, and had to get the aperture ring unstuck. DAG charged $75 to fix and CLA it.

50mm Summicron. Dropped it while changing lenses. The aperture and focus ring were both jammed. Leica NJ charged me $400 to fix it.

So if you ever feel bad about dropping something. Just think it could always be worse.

you should get camera insurance!
