I'm looking into building up a B&W darkroom at my home in Austria. Europe is relatively new to me and I'm still trying to learn about the people that are here.
Buying new from a retailer is prohibitively expensive (€150 for an easel? €100 for a plastic paper safe?
). But at the same time I'm looking at the classifieds in these parts (www.willhaben.at, www.kijiji.at) and nobody has equipment to spare.
I've a Durst F30 that will serve until I find something like my USA-based Beseler 23C (for 6x6 enlargements) and assorted trays but little else. A safelight, a timer, an easel, a paper cutter: all of this is still out of reach.
So, the question: if you're in Europe or thereabouts, where did you find your equipment? Where can I find equipment?

Join a camera club. You'll probably be given stuff for nothing, just to see it go to a good home.
Cheers,

Camera clubs might be a British thing - these are pretty scarce (and close to extinction, with few non-pensioner members) hereabouts.

United Camera formerly Orator has a large second hand selection.
Blende 7 only has new stuff but its neighbor is Camera 31 (www.camera31.at) which sells second hand lab and camera equipment across the street is the famous Leicashop which also sells Lab equipment (www.leicashop.at) and is always worth a visit. Foto Prudlo in the Lerchenfelderstrasse has some second hand darkroom equipment.
If you stroll trough the Westbahnstraße in Vienna you'll find a cluster of Photography related shops and Labs.
In Graz you have Foto Koeberl they also have an Ebay shop.

I've got a 6x6 durst enlarger (condesor head) which you can have for postage or you could pick it up by yorself in Linz. The enlarger is in very good condition and has 2 rodenstock lenses.

Innsbruck is much closer to Munich than to Vienna - bear that in mind when considering personal pick-up.

Increasingly true everywhere, but do not underestimate the generosity of a pensioner who wants to see his old enlarger revived...Camera clubs might be a British thing - these are pretty scarce (and close to extinction, with few non-pensioner members) hereabouts.

Thanks to everybody for the suggestions!
santino, that's generous of you. I'll send you a PM in a bit.

It's already happened once in Innsbruck, a bunch of equipment and paper went to a local community center/sharespace. And while I support Die Bäckerei's mission, the equipment didn't go to meIncreasingly true everywhere, but do not underestimate the generosity of a pensioner who wants to see his old enlarger revived...

Good idea on the Munich shop. Lamprechter has used cameras, but no lab equipment. Only one of their shops has even new darkroom stuff - all of a few boxes of Ilford MGIV and that's about it.

Since you are in the EU...think EU...there are a lot of options available that will entail shipping cost but no VAT.
