Trust me, I won't.
Way back when, in the dawn of my time on the internet, I ran a site somewhat like this. It was for graphic designers (amateurs, of course) and I was 17. All I remember from that time was what a PITA most of the gallery/bulletin board applications were. I finally ended up using a community blog for the remainder of the time I had that site open. With the size of the community (we were right around 25-30 people in the end that actually contributed) it was a perfect idea.
This size of a community is going to cause a few problems in this department. You need *massive* amounts of storage space to deal with the files. You need massive amounts of bandwidth to deal with the uploading of the files. You need a very good application to automate the uploading and viewing of the files. The only way I know of to really get a good application that fits YOUR needs personally is to have one custom made. And that is where the PITA thing comes from.
If I had bothered to learn PHP like I had planned, I probably would have offered to write something for the site by now that would hopefully help a bit with the incredible load and to fix the...interesting...problems that seem to crop up during uploading and commenting. Alas, I did not have the time nor the drive to learn it and so I can't do anything. Kinda makes me mad, really; I learned HTML/CSS so quickly but I'm having trouble learning PHP. Weird.
So yeah, I'm not going to like it. But I'll upload stuff anyway. 😉
