Magnum’s reputation may be beyond repair following a damning two-year investigation by a journalist into the conduct of David Alan Harvey that has revealed multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. The accusations from 11 women date back 13 years, and Magnum may have been aware of them as early as 2009.

Yep, it's been going on for a few weeks now. It's unfortunate that, it will have some effect on all at Magnum. The VII agency had some similar thing happen a couple of years back. I guess, they recovered?

I follow both agencies but only as a distant observer but wasn't aware that VII had a similar thing happen so I think that they recovered.

Yeah, I worked as a PJ for a few years before changing direction. So, I knew people from back then and kept up with that world. I did a lot of annual report work so, knew my competition at Magnum. I lost a lot of work to Erwitt. He's a very talented photographer.

Second Statement by VII on the Columbia Journalism Review Article

In light of the recent story in the Columbia Journalism Review about sexual harassment in the photojournalism industry, we want to reiterate that the photographers of VII are committed to maintaining a safe, creative and inclusive environment, free of harassment and intimidation. We are unable to comment on individual allegations while we examine them, but the circumstances surrounding the allegation of physical molestation made in the article against founding member Antonin Kratochvil were shocking to us.

Oh man, he's going to take that route? Does he really believe that this is going to work? Too many women came forward for this to be a little smear campaign against an innocent man. Basically, it sounds like if he's going down, he is going to try to bring down Magnum and some others with him.

I don’t know where you live, but this “there is no victim if victim made a profit” is a complete nonsense in the book of law in most of civilized and democratic counties, unless we disagree on the “civilized” definition.

Really? Imagine going an office job where you get paid weekly and all of a sudden, during a meeting, someone decides to make sexual comments and starts masturbating in front of you. Well, you've received a paycheck from us for months or years, so you cannot play victim here! Come on...

The women in the article said they were afraid to report him due to his powerful position in a powerful agency. This is why they didn’t report him at the time... they feel like they are nobodies and no one will believe them. The person in power had every resource to ruin their career and blacklist them from the industry they want to be part of. Several women in the article say this exact thing and some even admitted to using the opportunity even though it did not feel right to them. So, why after many years, are the reporting it now? Well, they are no longer 22-24 years old and hungry for an opportunity. They have confidence that it was wrong. They know there are others who had the same experience. Time allows one to make sense of a situation. They are working as a group which always helps when dealing with a powerful person.

I’m not sure why men feel threatened by stories like this. This isn’t a man vs woman issue. This a creep vs. woman issue.

He didn`t care who was hurt whilst he was transgressing so why should he care now .
He clearly only thinks of his own "needs".

Ok, they accepted an "unspoken contract", so nothing wrong with that. What if accepting your "unspoken contract" is the last thing a woman would do, if only she could get a job or part simply because she's qualified for it? Do you really see nothing wrong in having to accept pressures, harrassment, threatens.. as the only way to get a job?? And you really see nothing wrong in the fact that many more qualified women will never get a job, just because a less qualified gets it simply for being attractive and willing to satisfy an old pig's lusts?

Weinstein is a sex offender who is found guilty by the court and serving the sentence (23 years, which is a lot). Are you trying to say he is not guilty and all the evidence is not an evidence or the court is morally wrong? What world you are living in?
 
There is a reason movements like Me Too and the Million Women March are gaining major traction, it’s because we live in an age where we are interconnected by social media and other technological channels. This has made victims less fearful of coming out with their voice.

In turn, this torments those who seek to have things be the old selfish ways, to oppress, degrade, criticize, torment and judge those they do not understand and don’t seem to want to try to understand. Well it is long overdue that people grow up and stop being selfish dirtbags, be held accountable.

You certainly have a right to your opinion but I think you might find more echo in your chamber if you choose one more along the lines of Newsmax, OANN, a forum for the Proud Boys or quite literally a forum called “Glock Talk”.

Otherwise... as you have seen here, not many if any will share your views of this particular instance.
