Magnum’s reputation may be beyond repair following a damning two-year investigation by a journalist into the conduct of David Alan Harvey that has revealed multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. The accusations from 11 women date back 13 years, and Magnum may have been aware of them as early as 2009.

Yep, it's been going on for a few weeks now. It's unfortunate that, it will have some effect on all at Magnum. The VII agency had some similar thing happen a couple of years back. I guess, they recovered?

Yeah, I worked as a PJ for a few years before changing direction. So, I knew people from back then and kept up with that world. I did a lot of annual report work so, knew my competition at Magnum. I lost a lot of work to Erwitt. He's a very talented photographer.

In light of the recent story in the Columbia Journalism Review about sexual harassment in the photojournalism industry, we want to reiterate that the photographers of VII are committed to maintaining a safe, creative and inclusive environment, free of harassment and intimidation. We are unable to comment on individual allegations while we examine them, but the circumstances surrounding the allegation of physical molestation made in the article against founding member Antonin Kratochvil were shocking to us.

yeah right... everyone is abuser nowadays-especially when abused cant use privileges they got from him anymore. interestingly how they never accuse people of abusing in moment when they get best roles because they were close to them. same goes with Weinstein-there are tons of people in past 20 years and more that said what he is doing-it wasnt secret-so if you get involved with him its only you to blame-because you also wanted profit from it. we are all adults and we know how world functions-you need something from someone you get close to him or her this or that way and you will have more chance to get it. simple as that-no crying after.

Can there be any more obvious “blame the victim” thing? Do you really think this way in XXI century?

there is no victim if "victim" made profit. i also did things for profit but i dont feel used afterwards even if they could count as being used in this weird times... its simple unspoken contract-i do this for you - you do this for me. of course woman that is my boss will give me easier tasks if i flirt with her-i dont think she is using her position-she has something i need-control over my tasks-i have something she needs-she likes my physical appearance. i see nothing wrong with that...

I don’t know where you live, but this “there is no victim if victim made a profit” is a complete nonsense in the book of law in most of civilized and democratic counties, unless we disagree on the “civilized” definition.

Really? Imagine going an office job where you get paid weekly and all of a sudden, during a meeting, someone decides to make sexual comments and starts masturbating in front of you. Well, you've received a paycheck from us for months or years, so you cannot play victim here! Come on...

The women in the article said they were afraid to report him due to his powerful position in a powerful agency. This is why they didn’t report him at the time... they feel like they are nobodies and no one will believe them. The person in power had every resource to ruin their career and blacklist them from the industry they want to be part of. Several women in the article say this exact thing and some even admitted to using the opportunity even though it did not feel right to them. So, why after many years, are the reporting it now? Well, they are no longer 22-24 years old and hungry for an opportunity. They have confidence that it was wrong. They know there are others who had the same experience. Time allows one to make sense of a situation. They are working as a group which always helps when dealing with a powerful person.

I’m not sure why men feel threatened by stories like this. This isn’t a man vs woman issue. This a creep vs. woman issue.

He didn`t care who was hurt whilst he was transgressing so why should he care now .
He clearly only thinks of his own "needs".

Ok, they accepted an "unspoken contract", so nothing wrong with that. What if accepting your "unspoken contract" is the last thing a woman would do, if only she could get a job or part simply because she's qualified for it? Do you really see nothing wrong in having to accept pressures, harrassment, threatens.. as the only way to get a job?? And you really see nothing wrong in the fact that many more qualified women will never get a job, just because a less qualified gets it simply for being attractive and willing to satisfy an old pig's lusts?

please for example argento was in consensual relationship (her words) with weinstein... she was not some poor girl from street to be used-she is rich directors daughter. she was with him-got roles because gf of producer and when they were not together she didnt get roles of course because believe it or not directors and producers tend to put whole their families in movies always , like owners of companies put their families on their companies or friends companies. its how world functions-you keep friends and family close and help them. name me one rich person - even people that fight for "rights" like idk bernie sanders have filled their nonprofit organizations with wife and kids that work for pretty good money. so when you break up and not satisfied because your protection is expired you can either be normal or on the other hand be revengeful and imagine random accusations to profit futlrther from publicity... and with this i end...

Weinstein is a sex offender who is found guilty by the court and serving the sentence (23 years, which is a lot). Are you trying to say he is not guilty and all the evidence is not an evidence or the court is morally wrong? What world you are living in?

There is a reason movements like Me Too and the Million Women March are gaining major traction, it’s because we live in an age where we are interconnected by social media and other technological channels. This has made victims less fearful of coming out with their voice.

In turn, this torments those who seek to have things be the old selfish ways, to oppress, degrade, criticize, torment and judge those they do not understand and don’t seem to want to try to understand. Well it is long overdue that people grow up and stop being selfish dirtbags, be held accountable.

You certainly have a right to your opinion but I think you might find more echo in your chamber if you choose one more along the lines of Newsmax, OANN, a forum for the Proud Boys or quite literally a forum called “Glock Talk”.

Otherwise... as you have seen here, not many if any will share your views of this particular instance.

i live in a world where media put you on a cross and turn whole population against you so if judge make different decision he goes to cross too... you can notice the same in US elections... check news from cnn from 2006 - 2016 they claimed counting machines are from Venezuelan company and they can be hacked super easy-but now when their candidate have questionable results from same machines from same company they claim it is impossible to hack them. and guess what-supreme court didnt even question the fact that dead people voted-in any country it would lead to repeating elections. (you can easily check voter system yourself and recirds of deceased people-i was curious because i saw news and checked randomly dead people and found out many got ballots and voted...also i am not from usa - i just like to explore how low civilization can go. how everyone have to think same now and to suck up to others or will be cancelled and accused that he is primitive man living in past.. unfortunately it happens here as well-but ok everyone now have to jump on same bandwagon to be accepted. we all have to hate trump, support trans people, ask for more women and black in movies and so on ) and please don't use court as a proof-court does what people like because nobody wants to be targeted - not even judges... i guess i stop posting here altogether... i know nobody will miss me but just to say im signing out-will just read from now on...
