I agree. We need to know the guy's name. He could always pop up under a different screen name and Joe, Jorge, and even Bruce would have no idea.

His IP can be banned from the site without any of us finding out his name, which would keep him from signing up under another name if he's using a reasonably static IP (cable or DSL) unless he went through the effort of getting a new ISP. (If he's an AOL user or still on dial-up or something, that makes it all but impossible to keep him out completely.)

But, personally, this is the type of information that's good for a community to have. Nobody needs an address or anything, but names to avoid are helpful.

Banning an IP number doesn't help. I've got an A-DSL line and a S-DSL line at home. Both get disconected when I switch off all that stuff and go to sleep. Tomorrow I have new IP numbers.

They emulate a dial up line with PPPoE originaly to charge by time and stuck to it when the started to charge by volume.

Unpacking today, I just found my payment to Sherry Krauter that I thought I sent before the holidays and before I moved...Got it out today but I feel BAD. Sh*t happens.

This is one reason why cleaning out transaction laundry in a forum could turn out to be nastier business than is [honestly] intended.

Yes, please do. We all need to know. More then month deal and the police involved finally. It's getting interesting. Moderators can do nothing about it, unfortunately.

As to outing this person, I will leave it to the moderators to tell me yea or nea. Someone just screwing something up innocently is one thing, we've all been there I'm sure,but the police gave this individual the option of following through with the transaction or being charged with a crime. They thought they had enough to get a conviction.

I agree with Flyfisher Tom, you should just report the guy with a brief description of your experience in the feedback forum. Then you let others decide whether to deal with him, and presumably he could post a response to explain his inaction. It's that simple. But if you don't report the guy, and this was an RFF member selling on this site, then you're just leaving a giant nail in the road knowing that someone else is likely to run over it. Give us the benefit of your experience, so we can avoid a deadbeat seller. Just my two cents.

Yes, rethinking it and considering the fact that he is a member and the transaction started here, the feedback section is the place where this has to be entered. May be with his nickname and a link to his ad. I'd exclude address and real name for now.
