deals on film - post here!

Following on from my last post...

... I went tonight to Woolworths and the film all had no prices! My hopes were raised and I took some to the checkout for a scan. But 'twas not to be... 4 rolls $13.51.

I hadn't seen these ratings before now but I have ordered twice from ecamerafilms and been pleased. I bought film from them not any of the other stuff they sell. 20 rolls of BW400CN the first order and 20 rolls of mixed color the second order. Shipped fairly quickly--and after reading those reviews, I guess I was lucky the film shipped at all...

The reviewers at resellers ratings didnt think too highly of of ecamerafilms.com. Its too bad too, I was really tempted by their Fuji Superia 200 going for $1.35. Guess it really was too good to be true.

Rob,

Thats encouraging to hear. From the reviews on the site, a lot of them mentioned that they were buying digital cameras. No mention of anyone buying film.

Stopped in my local 99 cent store the other day and found some 200 iso color neg film for 99 cents (oddly enough:)) a roll. It was labeled as "Memories" 35 mm color print film, made in Japan. Is any film other than Fuji currently made in Japan? Anyway, the expiration date is 1/1/10. Here's an example that I shot today.

A deal on developing MF film

A deal on developing MF film

I sent out two rolls of 120 film for C-41 developing and scanning at Sam's Club. The negatives returned developed but without being scanned onto a CD. Total cost per film: $0.46. If you subtract $0.42 for postage, the actual cost is $0.02.

That's a great price - under $0.45/roll!! My woolies had 3-packs of the same film for $12.95/$10.95 on special.

I will go have another look - they just renovated, installing people-less automagic checkouts (even takes cash and gives change, with a machine!). Perhaps there is a shelf somewhere with lines they are no longer selling.

I can't figure out Woolies. I went to one the other day and they were clearing out 4 packs of Fuji Superia Extra 400/24's for $2.00 a box. It doesn't expire unti 2010 so I did the decent thing and helped myself from a trolley that was full of this stuff, Fuji disposable cameras and Kodak something or other for $2 (pluh-ease) a roll. Nice enough haul. I took 11 boxes leaving enough for the next guy. That was Woolies in Unley in SA, Oz. Nice thing was that I was only up for the day and just happened to walk in to get something :) Gotta love those finds.

I just ordered here (German!), they're located in Austria and some stuff is pretty cheap. I got the 120 HP5 for 3.10 Euro a roll (20 Rolls 52 Euros, 10 Euros shipping to Germany)

I bought the 20 rolls for $24.95 + $9.99 shipping. Promptly acknowledged, shipped, tracking # sent. Should be here tomorrow, as per UPS. Can let you know by tuesday night.
The entire transaction certainly seemed very up and up.

Now this one I don't know about. Doesn't quite sound right to me...

Has anyone bought film from this seller? Is the film good?

I bought 20 rolls of tri-x for $25 from this seller. Arrived in a day as two shrink wrapped bricks of 10 rolls each. Expiry was as advertised. Haven't tried the film yet, but I doubt there will be any trouble.

I ordered 20 rolls of the Tmax 400, email was great and he sent a tracking number. Will let you know once it arrives and I actually shoot/develop a roll. --John

Actually, Raid, all the $24.95 are gone. I guess it was a discount for the daring !:D
(Or the foolish, depending on what we end up getting.)

Subhash,
I had the opportunity then to get such a deal, and now it is gone. I better find another goo deal somewhere else.
