deals on film - post here!

The $0.50/roll Kodak 100 Gold turned out very well. I am glad that I bought 40 rolls, followed by 20 rolls.

Sorry for the large file scan, but check the film performance.

Don't forget the Reala100 at £7.99 for 20 rolls. I have a lot of that in my freezer (540 rolls), it's fine.

wah! what a deal! today on knownsite.co.uk purchased 20pck Reala box for 12pounds BIN + 5.50 shipping (exp Jul 2007). Not so attractive price, though much better than 3 pounds (that's price I see in local shops) in regular store.

Kodak Max 800

I've never used Max 800, but my local Publix had it 1/2 price at the impulse buying table under a sign that said "Discontinued." None of it (NONE) was expired, some as far out as 12/08.

I asked the clerk (stupidly) why it was 1/2 off...he said "oh--it's been discontinued..." I said, "But it's not even expired--it's still good film." He didn't understand what I meant.

So it turned out to be about $2.50 per roll. As I said, I've never used it--what do you guys think? Worth it?

Personally I think Max 800 is not a very good film. Especially at that price. Do a eBay search on "Kodak Max 800" and you'll see a load of it available with Buy It Now for under $1.00 USD a roll...

Never tried Gold 100 either, but I'm really fond of 200. Amazing results for off the shelf. Your shot above is quality at ISO 100, too.

When a cheap film can deliver such image qualities, I am satisfied with cheap film. Film these days is so good that you can nearly choose film blindly. It is very difficult to buy bad film.:D

Thanks for the tip on the $0.50 Gold 100. I picked up 100 rolls. Hell, it was came out to half the price of a brick of Tri-X. What a steal.

I don't even shoot that much color, but now I have a ton of it to screw around with.

What kind of offers does he seem to be accepting now? He countered my $5 offer...
