Deciding on which photo to submit to a competition

3 is a little bland. 2 (NE corner of union square?) is potentially better but the action is smashed up against the light colored background. it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. in the end, it's people in the park at night, though, which the judges have probably seen a lot. 1 is intentionally artificial, but it's well composed and striking. i'd go 1.

note - if you're cropping, and you crop to just the main part of #2, i think that might end up being a better photo.

1 has some degree of impact, it's non-cluttered, simple to look at. I'm not sure what I'm looking at for number 3.

I think it was a lot better in terms of narrative and composition. Thank you everyone for your help. All of these comments helped me a lot in choosing the final submission.
