I can't access several big threads here; these are threads that contain a very high number of posts. The two that come to mind are "Photo Association" and "Let's See Your Leica M". When I try to look at these threads I get this message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 27089 bytes) in /home/rff/public_html/forums/showthread.php on line 1232
I get this error message when I try to access the threads both from my iMac at home, or a PC here at work. I'm wondering if anyone reading this might be able to tell me what I need to do to overcome this problem.

I just tried the "Let's See Your Leica M" thread and it was working fine for me. May have been a temporary glitch..

works for me as well.
I am not the tech guy, but I think it is something on your end honestly. This has come up before and this was the case.

I guess that's why I asked. I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is on my end that's going wrong. I'm doubtful that its something with my software, since it happens both when I log on with a Windows machine and a Mac.
Is there possibly some way I have my "user-cp" set up here that causes it?

That's surprising that it's occurring on two different machines, with two different operating systems.
for your work machine, do you happen to have more than one browser on your PC? that you could experiment with? For example, since you probably have Internet Explorer on that box, would they allow you to download and install Firefox? or Chrome? Then to see if the same error occurs with a different browser on that same machine?
Just to kinda narrow down the possibilities?
Robt.

Actually, you definitely have a point. But I thought since I can't own right now, maybe I could live vicariously.

That's a thought. I do have both Firefox and Explorer on both machines. I'll test it out tomorrow. Thanks!

Is there a punchline coming? "istbar virus"?

Thanks. I just tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer and I still get the same "Fatal Error..." message.
Colyn (below) suggested that I try dumping the computer's cache and clearing out the old cookies. I'm going to try that tonight.

Here is the guide to remove the ISTbar/ISTsvc malware.

Thanks, Raid. I went to that site and read about the virus. My problem doesn't have any of the symptoms of that. And it looks like the ISTbar/ISTsvc is only attacking PCs. I'm having the problem both on PC and Mac, and the PC doesn't even belong to me, so it's not likely set up in the same way as my MAC. This keeps making me think that I've somehow set up my "user-cp" here in some wierd way that causes me to be able to open the really big threads. Hmmm???

The only thing in your user cp that I would think could cause this is under "edit options". Scroll down to
