Dent removal question

where did you got the tools set?
did you applied same wood with pressure to the M2 top plate?

No I ended up using this, the Mark III, a piece of maple with with a 1/8" elm end-grain veneer to provide a "hard-surface" the anvil is another piece of maple, both are finished in a nitro-cellulose sealer and the anvil was sprayed with spray-mount to stop any chance of the top moving.

The slightest movement during the process will put a polished spot on the chrome

The special tools came from micro-tools, I made the one for the rewind post, I couldn't bring myself to use metal on the screw

That Dry Ice dent removal thingie was great...
I took a dent out of my Spotmatic using the hardwood method but instead of hammering it out I used an Arbor Press...Yes, I just happen to have one in the garage...
That dent would also drive me nuts...The reason I had the top off my Spotty was that it had a loose strap lug that was really bugging me...

I just saw the end results...much better!!! Good job...

Very cool, Stewart.

Pretty please, what did you use as seal ?

Roland.

I made some impressions of the seal using this stuff, using a thermal setting modelling plastic from an art shop

to get some of these

Then when I'd finished just coloured some clear sealing-wax with lamp-black worked it in my fingers until it was soft then put it back in the hole and stamped it with the die
