😱 I have an M4-2 which has been recently serviced by a very well-respected camera tech, so apart from one thing, it is working very well. Unfortunately the "one thing" is a big problem. The leading curtain has become detached cleanly, not from the take-up drum which is not all that rare a problem, but from the leading edge metal bar to which the shutter tapes attach. It looks like it would not be all that difficult a job to fish the curtain out and glue it back into the metal part, but I have never done that particular repair before, and I wonder if there is anyone on the list who may have had this problem before and can give me some pointers. At first glance it would appear that all I need to do is to take the body shell off and then remove the metal shroud covering the shutter spindles, in order to access the curtain, glue it and clamp it to ensure the join dries with correct alignment. It appears that I will have to take off the RF cam follower to get the shroud off, so that's not much fun.
