I found some outdated Macos Cube 400c at a local shop and bought a few rolls. The developer in the darkroom that I use to develop is Ilfosol S, but the store where I bought the film does have the proper developer from Macos.

What will I gain by using the Macos developer. They have the regular and the fine-grain. Has anyone tried this film in Ilfosol? I don't necessarily want to buy the specialized developer if I'm only developing a few rolls.

Thanks in advance.

Cube 400C and R3 are different on polyester layer. R3 is on clear polyester layer with double non-curling layer. Cube 400C is blue polyester and is missing the non-curling layer and is curling pretty much.
Both are TSF (traffic surveillance films) extended red sensitivity till 700nm.
You need a depth developer like RHS/AM74 or RLS/CG512.
iso 400-1000 RHS 1+7 or 1+9 is giving the best result. Iso 50-200 RLS/CG512 1+4 (on 24 degrees C !!). Do not forget a pre-soak for at least 2-3 minutes which is important for this film.

Here an example of R3 in RHS/AM74 (the original is comming from Amaloco Photochemicals, Ommen , the Netherlands)

RHS/AM74 1+9 16:30 min, 20 degrees C on iso 400.
