A while back there was a thread with some useful suggestions for labs in Europe, and I thought I had saved the information but can't find it now. I remember there was a recommended lab in Germany with tarifs that were less then Negatif + in Paris. Any leads would be appreciated. I have a small amount of C-41 and E6 that isn't worth sending back to Taipei at the moment. THanks.

I do not really think they realize potential they have, so I doubt they operate this way - but I will ask. If you have volume of film worth shipping over here I could help you.

I have to give them idea, though.

70ct for C-41 development? NICE! I pay 4.95 Euro per roll. Alas my local 1-hour photo service quit their in-house developing and now send it to a lab..a week turn-around time 🙁

I'm thinking about trying the photo service of the HEMA department store in here in the Netherlands. The website says 2 days for film processing. And the cost wasn't too bad.

For numerous rolls I have been sending back to Taipei. It is a viable way of operating. You should definitely make the suggestion to your friends.
Right now I only have a couple of rolls that need developing, so it isn't worth it to send them back to Taipei. I have no idea what the postal cost from France to Latvia would be like, but I should check it out!

I can highly recommend Photostudio 13 in Germany. Top professional lab.

But there are dozens of other good labs in Germany, too.

Here is a list of german / austrian / suisse labs (not all existing labs are listed, but enough 😉)

You could contact CEWE or Eurocolor Gera (Fuji), these are the labs your films are sent to if you drop them off at a drugstore (dm, Schlecker, Rossmann...). CEWE charges you 95ct for development + some cents for each print, Rossmann will develop your film without prints for 2 € something.

CEWE itself or at least all its major resellers here in town (notably dm and the Rewe group) seem to have stopped doing development only C41 this spring - they never had the option on the order envelopes, and do not honour handwritten requests any more. On my last two attempts I received the films with a full set of their most expensive 10x15 prints, a photocopied note that now is their default treatment for development only requests, and a corresponding bill. I now take my money where I feel better treated, and have ceased to use CEWE, whether as a film lab or digital printer.
