Diafine at 65 degrees F

I've got the perfect location in my basement to process film... clean, light tight, running water, and good storage for chemicals. The only problem is that the air temperature is a fairly constant 65 degrees F. and Diafine is rated for 70 - 85 degrees.

Does anyone have experience using Diafine at cooler temperatures?

I used to develop in the basement at about 55° F air temperature, I simply stored the chemicals upstairs. They don't really cool down that much within the 3+3 minutes, always worked for me.

Why don't you just do a test? Developing a 12 inch (30cm) length of 35mm film should tell you what you need to know. Perhaps an extra minute in Solution B might better let the developer work to completion.

My basement is a fairly constant 66-68 F and I develop everything at that range whether I use Diafine, D-23, Rodinal, or HC-110. (Same goes for prints)

I use TD-201 which is a two-bath (like Diafine without the speed) at 68F and I extend the development -an extra two minutes- to 6+6. It hasn't hurt anything so far........

I highly doubt it will affect the development in any noticable way, but you can extend each bath as long as you want (within reason) as a safegaurd.
