Lots of M2's, one left that I bought new in 1965 (black paint) the rest used.
M3 used
M6's (2) - bought new
M4P (2) - Bought new
M6 TTL (3) bought new
MP Bl.p. Bought new

At one time I did a quick survey of my Leica's - current and old. About 12 M4P's, bought new, 4-5 M4-2's bought new, M7 bought new, M6's - at least 1/2 dozen, bought new. Over the years some were sold off, some traded for newer Leica's. Keep in mind this is over a timespan of 30+ years and many of these cameras were used commercially. These days I prefer my M2's - most of which have been picked up used.
The current Leica pricing makes be balk at putting out the money for a new Leica MP when there are more moderately priced alternatives, used M's, Zeiss ZM's, Bessa R4/R3/R2's.
After all - a camera is just a box with a finder and a light tight compartment that holds film.

Bought an M2 used in 1970 with the 90 Tele-Elmarit and 1974 bought a new Summicron 50/2. I have had these all these years and just recently sent the M2 to Youxin for CLA and he did a remarkable job on it, it's like new and will probably last another 40 years.

All my M's have been bought used. The M's left for me to buy new are getting up there in price, I've got a little piggy bank going but its going to be a hungry piggy.

Gosh that would be awesome if Leica could manufacture M's already used. You know a couple of scuff marks here and there.

I bought my M8 used from Adorama last year. Ive also bought several used/refurbed Canon 1ds from them as well. Cameras I tend to buy used, lenses new.

Bought new?

Bought new?

Sorry Leica, as a retiree, I like to spread my money around doing things I missed out on during my careers. I only bought one camera/lens new and it was not a RF. Everything I own now is used except my inherited cameras/lenses. And I am happy with them all.

Haven't bought anything new for my Leica setup, and haven't regretted any of it. It's really the only way I can even dream of being able get into Leica gear in the first place though. But when you click the shutter release it all becomes worth it.

Bought chrome .72 MP new a few years back. That's it, everything else Leica, save for screwmount stuff, has been pretty beat.

I've bought a mixture of new, demo, and used Leica over the years, but recently only an M8 and M9 were bought new. Prices on lenses have risen far out of proportion to any economic index, and not just the recent designs. Older designs whose R&D was long ago amortized are now priced stratospherically. I bear Leica no ill-will for making as much profit as they can. But they won't be making it off of me. After a bit of a lag, the used lenses seem to be following the trend, and most of those I now consider well beyond what I'm willing to spend on this hobby. Fortunately I consider myself fully equipped, with a double layer of backups (earlier Leitz, and then Voitlander) in case of loss.

Bought a M4-P used 1 1/2 yrs ago. In good shape and had it CLA'd. 2 lenses I have (21/4.5 C biogon and 50/1.4 summilux) are also used. My 35/2.8 ZM biogon is brand spankin' new.

Best kit I've bought in the last 15years...

bought our first used Leica, an M4. What a sweet camera. Next purchase is a 50mm lens just have to sort through which one and how much I want to spend.
