I purchased new when I first go into Leica in the mid-1990's, and then again during Leica's dark days of circa 2003 or so, when the company nearly went out of business, and I stumbled on a store liquidating their stock, because "it didn't sell." I've since sold all the stuff, in some cases making money, some cases losing a little, but I only buy used now.

All of my Leica stuff has been used:
M2 - purchased from a reputable local store
90mm Tele Elmarit - purchased from a reputable local store
50mm Summicron Collapsible - purchased from a long term RFF member
I don't have an issue with Leica's 'new' pricing (what ever works for their business model), but I can't imagine a future where I'd be able to justify a new purchase. Wouldn't mind a used M10 in a few years though

I currently have a IIIa that I was given, and two M4s that I inherited (there's no check box for that!) Over the past 50 years I've had two IIIfs, two M3s, one M2, one M4-2, and all have been bought used. I have never even thought about buying a new piece of any Leica gear, and now that digital ones cost so much and are obsolete within a couple of years, I doubt that I will ever own a new OR used digital Leica, though I'd love to have one. When digital came along, I thought long and hard and went with Nikon for that.

I bought my M6 used last year for a really good price and it was in great condition.
I'm working on budgeting and saving for some new lenses but I'm currently only shooting with a Canon 35mm f/2 LTM (really poor condition
) and a 7artisan 50mm 1.1

Owned an M5 and two M8s. all used (the M5 is quite a bit older than myself)
M5 bought from eBay, via a seller who was a regular on here and actually called to chat about the camera and its provenance.
First M8 from Adorama; took its sweet time arriving and developed the shutter fault on day 2 of a long trip. Convoluted return process but I was refunded.
Second M8 from eBay, from a seller who included all the literature and service history.
I've owned too many cameras, but only bought one body new (Fuji X100) and even that was a refurb.

Back in 1973, another photo major offered me his black M4 and Summi 50 in exchange for one of my Nikkormats and 200. I still have the M4, use, and love it.
