Canon LTM Different Canon P bodies? True???

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Just developed my roll...pics look GREAT...I can definitely recommend that place here in upstate NY. Shutter bounce is gone!

Wow! $110 for a CLA? That's a good price.

Hmmm, the shutter bounce is probably what kept the wrinkles out. Now that it's gone, well, you know....

In any case, you can't tolerate shutter bounce in a user camera.

I'm looking for a second Canon P body. Now there is a seller on evilbay who claims that the earlier Ps are" significantly higher in build quality, heavier, and, most of all, have far better fit and finish!"
Is that really true???

Wallace

P.S: hope nobody else from the forum is interested in this P.......

it's not true!

Ha!, well, I spoke too soon...I hadn't scanned the negs yet. Maybe one in 8 photos still has a light strip running down the right-hand edge. The tech who did the CLA apologized and said he stands by his work and will tighten it up again for free...so back it goes...

Light strip? Scan?

What scanner? I have a light strip along one side that I've ablamed on Nikon V and certain films/densities (don't see it with color neg)...maybe it's bounce.

Grrr. I've been able to fix most of mine in post processing, but don't like to.

I've emailed your NY tech to confirm his interest.

I'm also interested, maybe, in a black paint job. For the camera :)

Shutter bounce is indeed annoying. I had it on a Canon Ftb once. (I think it was an Ftb?)

If you do the black paint, please post before/after pics. I'd be interested as well. An RFF member-- digitalintrigue -- has done that for M3 bodies. Don't know if he does Canons or not.

Update on this...Allen at Cameraworks took back my P, replaced the curtain brake spring, tested it for a week, and returned it, all free of charge of course...I had also sent him a Pen EED to CLA which he did for $50 instead of the usual $65-75, in order to refund me my return shipping on the P. Everything seems shipshape--the EED blades were oily as hell and completely stuck, and now they're clean and dry. An honest, informative, responsible guy.
