After enquiring with the London Leica store re purchasing replacement strap lugs for an M3, I was informed that Leica will only supply these to authorised repairers of which there are none in the U.K. Anyone else encounter this problem elsewhere?

I'm sure you can get them from Don Goldberg (DAG) in the USA.

Thank you, yes of course but somewhere in Europe would be more convenient if possible. Is there an official list of authorised repairers?

Not really. Sourcing these parts for old cameras can be quite challenging. Actually I seriously doubt whether Leica even has these eyelets in stock.
Your best bet might be to ask in the German section of LUF.

micro-tools.com (http://www.micro-tools.de) has late style lugs.
That said, it's probably best to have someone experienced take care of this project...

I believe the parts should be available as they are identical to the lugs used on the MP etc.

The M3 has different lugs depending on the year it was built. I do not know whether they are interchangeable.I believe the parts should be available as they are identical to the lugs used on the MP etc.
