I agree! Ficifolia's work has been prompting me to consider rekindling my very soured relationship with digital. That's pretty amazing in itself. How beautiful. I know it’s all personal preference, but this is among the nicest digital BWs I recall seeing.
What digital system would you choose? Maybe an appropriate question for the thread: “What digital system produces the most aesthetically pleasing BW to you?”I agree! For me, with B&W I am leaning toward cameras that have a good B&W JPEG engine already. I treat shooting them more like film in that what I shoot is what I get. What digital system would you choose? I’ve had a bunch, including a couple Monochrom versions, but I’d probably say Fuji. I prefer a gentle rendering with an extended middle gray range.
Whoa, I didn't actually say I was going to do this, but if it happened, I would probably do the Fuji x100vi. The reasoning is that I quickly become a gear whore for whatever system crosses my path; the Fuji would eliminate the temptation for lens acquisition, etc. I also like the ergonomics, and the SOC monochrome film sims look really nice. Back when I shot digital with a Sony A7II, I basically did monochrome jpegs, with only slight occasional tweaking in Photoshop. Very basic, but it met my needs. I know I'll get flamed for saying that! What digital system would you choose? Maybe an appropriate question for the thread: “What digital system produces the most aesthetically pleasing BW to you?”

Fixed lenses definitely cut down on that temptation. Or go with something like a 645D/Z to use your existing lenses. 😉Whoa, I didn't actually say I was going to do this, but if it happened, I would probably do the Fuji x100vi. I got an X100 and I loved it...Oh get real. You know if you get an X100 and like it, you'll be jonesing for an X Pro #, XT-#, and a bagful of lenses.
