i have been very much tempted to get a digital body for my lenses.
i love my G1 but turnaround time for my films takes a while (scanning at a lab needs five rolls). been looking at the nex-3, but it seems incomplete to me. the m4/3 offerings are a no because of the 2x crop factor (me wants wide). are there no other options?

Modify the G lenses to M mount and use a M8 or M9.

I'd go for the Sony NEX-5 myself. The lack of controls doesn't seem so limited unless you're going to be using full manual exposure a lot. The NEX cameras also have a function called focus peaking, which makes manual focusing a lot easier.

Because digital sensor micro-lenses direct light to the sensor sites, it is unlikely images from any digital camera with your G1 lenses will look as they do with film.
I was quite disappointed with using legacy lenses on a LUMIX G1 body. Lenses designed for that camera's sensor worked just as well. Contax lenses may be a better match though.
This Google sear string shown below will give many hits about adapters. But there are also reports about results as well.
"contax G1 lenses on micro four-thirds"
