I have a G9, and have to repeat that the SD800-IS does a very nice job. It's major features are size, wide (28mm equiv.) and IS. Did I say size??? Here is a shot (of me!) that she took on a recent trip. This was done without flash, fully auto, with somewhat challenging lighting and the lens set at 4.6mm (28mm). Sorry, that's not my G9
