digital ICE option on 4990?

Hi,

As you guys know I got the Epson 4990.
I just tired to use it, with EpsonScan on Win7.

I found that the digital ICE option is gray-ed and i cant click the box.

oh i was scanning positive film.

is that normal?

I use that scanner with vuescan, so I can't comment on your software options. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work though. It should.
Did you perhaps use a kodachrome setting? In which case it might disable ICE. Other than that I don't know.

Perhaps you have the "dust removal" option enabled? I use 4490 and I can only choose one option at a time - though not sure of a difference between them. I actually stopped using either because they make my scans look pretty ugly with blotches (I guess from cloning) or weird edges from time to time.

I found out.
It's only work on "film holder mode"
