Can anyone show me what the aging of a Black Chrome M looks like compared to a Black Paint model?

I don't have pictures of them, but I have 2 Leica M4-P's, both older brass top models, but one has worn down to the brass in places (looks like gold to me!), whilst the other has worn down less, such that the finish looks a bit lighter in tone, but still black. I guess that there is some coating of someting over the brass to help the dark colour stick better.
Sorry, it's obvious that i know nothing about metalurgy.

The M6s don't brass, they just get a lighter metallic color (i don't know anything about metalurgy, either). The MPs brass like the older pro black Ms, the 6s do not. Some people find this offensive. I guess it matters only if you care, and I don't.

Certainly doesn't look like garbage. I think the "chromed" cameras look distinguished sorta like grey hair!
