Anyone ever catch that in F-4043 (2/2016), the times for TMY in large tanks with HC-110 don't actually match what is in the HC-110 instruction sheet (J-24, 12/2017)?

So look at TMY at 68 degrees in a large tank. In the TMY instructions, it's 6.25 minutes, and in HC-110, it's 7 minutes. That's not the only place/film where the numbers are different.

I'm a little curious about why Kodak's numbers are not cross-referenced (or even consistent). Different enlarger type assumed?

Also, why isn't everything standardized on large tank agitation? Slower agitation generally cuts back on the flow marks through the sprockets.

Hey Dante,

I might be nuts, but I thought I remember the formulation of HC-110 changing somewhat over the last decade. I can't remember the details, but I know I had some I bought in 2009 and being told that it was slightly different than the new stuff I bought in 2017. So maybe the numbers are different because the formula is slightly changed.

Best,

Disparity? What disparity?

Disparity? What disparity?

I can't comment about the disparity between the two sources, but I know what works for me. My standard development of TMY400 is 11 minutes in HC110 at dilution H at 68 degrees in a Patterson 2 or 3 reel tank. Your mileage may vary - the only way to know is to test it out.
