How about a photo shoot using a disposable camera over the holiday weekend of 14/15/16/17 April?

There's no 'Easter' theme, it just happens to be the date that looks convenient.

It's not a competion.

There is no Leica MP first prize.

Some of us could take a few pictures that weekend and post them here.

What do you say?

I just bought a disposable camera for 2.50GBP, but it was only for the viewfinder, which I shall cannibalise to use with my 25mm Snapshot-Skopar.

Very useful, these so-called disposables.

Zuikologist,

I happened to visit Silverprint near Waterloo Station on my way to a meet up with another RFF member. They were selling these Konica Minolta disposables (sans flash) for 2.50GBP. I bought one since the cheapest disposables on ebay would be more expensive when you factor the shipping into it.

Caveat: the focal length isn't indicated on the camera, but I checked the viewfinder's field of view against my SLR's lenses, and the field of view of the viewfinder is somewhere between 28mm and 35mm. This obviously won't be enough for my the 25mm Snapshot Skopar I was intending to use it with. Disposable camera viewfinders are particularly good for Jupiter-12's if you want a budget wide-angle kit.

An rff member posted a HOWTO, but I can't find it. Jay at fedka also has some instructions:

I picked up some Konica-Minolta Neo's recently. They have a 30mm lens and are among the easiest of the single use cameras to DIY unload and load. I believe that the same camera is old sold under the CVS drugstore brand in the US.

Regarding DIY finders. I found the relevant thread. I just finished making a 35mm finder myself and it only cost me 2.50 quid. I also got a free roll of film for it, and much valuable experience.

And yes, I'm well aware that all this is quite antithetical to Disposable Camera Easter.

Also, I noticed after ripping apart the disposable camera that it came with two aperture/shutter speed combinations that were not accessible from the outside.

I suppose they use the same generic shutter for several different models of disposable cameras.
