One would think there's no shortage of stuff to buy on ebay,,,, anyone can bid.
Most dealers can buy from ebay,
RFF'ers can sell on ebay,
It's among friends to sell or buy on RFF, - it's not supposed to be "commercial" it's supposed to be "appropriate"
I WILL NOT defend this guy - because he went far and beyond.
But I would like to tell you all about what I once went through.
A few years back I was b/w jobs. My skills are far removed from digi-stuff but I had a "hobby" interest and a knowledge of eBay trading.
So while I was seeking "real employment" I tried my hand at eBay "trading".
What I did, as this fellow showed, was to "troll" similar "hobby" sites and look for gear to arbitrage (i.e. buy lower than I could sell on eBay - even after my listing, selling and PayPal fees).
Generally, there is nothing wrong with doing this - as I think I did.
But I never went "over the line" and badgered folks etc. as this guy did.
Ultimately, I found that: 1) you really cannot make a living by arbitraging specific items on the web because you are dealing with "saavy" sellers, and 2) you are better off finding another "real job" because you like to eat regularyly and hate pis_ing people off.
That said, while this paricular guy deserves zero pity because he kept badgering, please keep in mind that there are folks out there who are trying to make a living on the web.
Thank goodness I'm not one of them!
