Whoops, been a while
Yeah I got some updates. my spanner wrench arrived a few days ago and I was able to remove that freaking ring.
With the lens board gone I'm able to remove a whole lot of weight and thickness from the camera.
So about this newer shape. I created a circle around the 6x7 exposed area and used that to make a cone that goes from the rear lens element in its most forward position (closest focus it apears). This will make sure I will not block the light in any way.
The new body shape stays well clear of this cone, so I think I'm on the safe side here (correct me if I'm wrong).
As you can see, the grip is nowhere near finished (still the old shape that I planned on using on the previous, more boxy body shape). I think I'll just make provisions on the body for a grip and sort that out at a later stage.
No idea when I will actually start the cnc work. I'll have to wait until the budget permits it I guess

A little bit more progress...
Have to figure out how I want to integrate the cable release and what to do with the dark slide. Since I can change film on this without having to remove the back itself, I wonder how necessary it really is.
Have to make some provisions for a 35mm viewfinder, bubble level, logo, support feet and strap. The grip also needs some shaping of course.
Also I am thinking whether I would like to have a little ring of leather around the lens mount, I bet it would make holding the camera a little bit more comfortable.
Hope this shows, otherwise you can see it here
