Im looking for commercially available options to scanning fluid. Read somewhere Zippo fluid and Baby oil may work??

Anyone tried something different?
Have the V750 M pro but didn't noticed the kit didn't came with the fluids etc
ps: im on the other side of the world to buy from distributor right now :)

Have you searched for Prazio or Kami distributors in your country? They have distributors in many parts of the world.

Yes, some people have used lighter fluid. I think its flash point is more dangerous than Kami fluid but both need caution. I know someone who runs a scanning service and claims it works just fine. I would be a little leery of it though since you don't know about any other impurities plus the danger factor.

If you search the large format forum website's archives, there is some discussion about using baby oil and mineral oil. Cleanup would more time consuming.

I was going to ask, "Why would you put a volatile inflammable liquid in an electrically operated mechanical device?" but it sounds like Kami fluid also fits this description. Time to invest in an asbestos head-dress.

well, i suspect Kami and other brands may be pretty decent products and safe and all.
Being in Uruguay means not so often access to what you want/need and afaik, no distributors here, only for ILFORD (because Unis are their main client, phewww!)

anyway, i wanted to ask if we have someone here who "knew" a formula to mix
because that is one of the advantages we have here, you have plenty access to buy chemicals at specialized stores... and you need no credentials or special authorizations

Most anything will be a mess except Kami fluid.
I would recommend that fluid.

I have used lighter fluid and it works well, but you have to clean the film.

Mineral oil works well too, but messy and also needs a serious cleanup
after scanning.

When Kami dries the film is clean.
