Hi, buddies,
Before I put my Minolta CLE to Classified, pls help to do some marketing first.
My question is,
How much could it sell for a excellent condition Minolta CLE (body only)?
Need to clear some stuff to support my recently purchased M2 and CLA. But if it's too low now, maybe I will keep it.
Thanks in advance,
Robin

Two recent eBay body only sales at $398, $404, and one on Buy it now at $350. few others at outrageously high starting prices and two completed No Sales at $800 plus with no activity.
Some hate to regard eBay as a market indicator, but folks, the people are going to eBay to make the deals, good or bad.

I was watching these and the CL a while back, and $400 seems about right for the CLE.

I have two CLEs, one of which i rarely use (more correctly, I alternate their usage). I thought of selling one a couple of months ago for the same exact reason as you.
But for "only" $400, I thought - eh, I'll keep both. A good working CLE is much under valued at $400 in my opinion. This way if one dies or gets stolen I have a backup.
Ditto on a good CL body with a working and calibrated meter - a steal at $300 these days.

I was going to say, $400 for a CL; a CLE is closer to $600 (at least based on what I've seen here, where you should expect a better quality of item and seller than eBay).

Hi Again, well, my numbers are based on that I BOUGHT my second, good, CLE body on Ebay about a year ago at around $425, and I SOLD a GREAT, CLA'd by Sherry Krauter - meter cell replaced - CL for around $300 about 6 months ago.
LUCKILY, that was also on Ebay, and the buyer of the CL pulled out of the deal (only the second time I've experience that), but I was HAPPY because in the process I realised that I wanted to keep the CL afterall...

I should add to my comment above that my tracking was based on EB. About a year ago, I'd say that the CLE was between $500 and $600, so it may be worthwhile holding onto to see if the market changes if you are planning to go the EB route.

Thanks. my friends,
I think you are right. Now the market for CLE is quite low. and if only for USD400, I'd better keep it. Anyhow, I will need a AE leica body sometime.
Maybe I can get the money I need from selling some lenses instead.

Here is a user CLE that didn't sell at $325 the last time is was listed.

I might bid $200 for it, in case it needs work. What would YOU pay?

$600 is about right for a CLE without lens. I bought one on Craig's List with lens in like new condition for $500 and turned it around when someone offered me $850 for it. $400 is about right for a CL.

I could've been tempted at $400. I have one CLE and 2 lenses. Would be nice to have two bodies to make for quicker shooting.

To sell that beauty? No way!
I believe that some ''remake'' of this camera with '' normal '' price could be good
move for camera makers ... Am I wrong???

Instead of selling it, I just purchased a M-Rokkor 28 from a respected RFFer yesterday to accompany my CLE and 40mm.
Cheers,

Ignore It (It'll go away)
I know it's late, but I usually see the CLE with a 40 Rokkor going for around $650 - $800. I think people are afraid to buy this camera. Too bad for them. It's a GREAT camera.

A few weeks ago i sold my CLE. It was hard to decide but one body had to go.
Without a doupt it is a wonderful camera with an impressive history. It introduced the autoexposure mode to the rangefinders (more than 20 years before the introduction of the Leica M7!).
Hold this little camera, if you can.
