Hello!

Please enlighten me: Did early Kievs (which ones? All with the stand foot?) have eyesight adjustment in their viewfinders? Would be a motivation for me to get a damaged early Kiev and adapt that part to my Kiev 4.

Greetings,

Eugen

Too bad. :( I don't remember where I read that early RF-Kievs had a diopter adjustment. Could be it was about the Contax?
Anyhow, would it possible to adapt the adjustment from a Fed? Anybody has done this before?

I don't think Kievs ever had a diopter adjustment. It's been a while since I was "under the hood" of a Kiev but I don't think there would be an easy way to fit one from a FED. Major surgery needed!

Neither my Contax II nor my Kiev have diopter adjustments and I think they never did. Some FSU copies of the Leica did have though.

I have seen screw -on or slip-on diopter lens for the kiev for sale on ebay and other sites One I saw recently for sale was missing the glass, which I found rather hilarious as it is useless without the glass! so I questioned who would buy it? Maybe someone with the glass but missing the mount? Anyways they do exist but I think they are rather rare so good luck finding one - Kievman

I just saw this one and remembered the thread. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dioptric-att...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51922ee137

An optometrist should be able to provide the correct lens for the user - I don't think it is meant to be adjustable like built in systems.
